The 2008 Bauersachs Family Reunion was held in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
Our theme this year was "BRING YOUR GRANDCHILDREN TO GETTYSBURG."
    The Reunion Headquarters for July 24-27, 2008 was at the Days Inn.  Several family members who had arrived early went for supper on Thursday evening at the
Historic 1776 Dobbin House Tavern. 
On Friday many family members attended a Pay-As-U-Go supper at Perkins Restaurant next to the
Days Inn.  This was followed by a social time in the Meade Room of the Days Inns. 
On Saturday morning, many boarded a double-decker Battlefield Tour Bus for a
tour of Gettysburg and the battlefield areas.

On Saturday afternoon, July 26, we welcomed
Kenneth Bowersox to the 2008 FAMILY REUNION!
He was very patient and answered question after question and stayed
to autograph photos and posed for pictures
with MANY family members for over an hour (or more).
   Kenneth D. Bowersox (Captain, USN), Nasa Astronaut, was born in 1956 in Virginia, but considers Bedford, IN to be his hometown.  He is married and they have three boys.  His great, great grandfather, Asaph Bowersox, enlisted twice in the Civil War (1862-1865).  In 1974 Ken graduated from Bedford High School,  received a BS degree in aerospace engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1978, and an MS degree in mechanical engineering from Columbia University in 1979.  Follow this link to read

-A Banquet and Program was held on Saturday evening in Gettysburg Days Inn
and included a home video presented by Kenneth Bowersox of his stay
aboard the International Space Station.
-Darryl Bowersox, Middleburg, PA, also provided history of the Battle of
Gettysburg and several Bowersox soldiers who participated in it.
-Church on Sunday was in Silver Run, Maryland at St. Mary's
United Church where many Dutterers attend.  Dot Dutterer is organist there.
